Business Plan Services was retained by the UK’s leading educational consultancy to develop a 3-year business plan as an internal roadmap to evaluate opportunities from the three areas within which the client company was operating:
i) Content Development
ii) Research; and
iii) Training
Of these, Research was regarded as the fastest growing field and generated a 90% margin, whereas Content Development generated the largest proportion of the company’s turnover although was an unpredictable source of revenue by reason of it being wholly project driven.
The client company then enjoyed a gross income of £3 million which was to be grown to approx £5.5 million within the next 2-3 years, potentially broken down as follows:
• Content Development – to be sustained at approx £3 million
• Research – to grow from £750k to £2 million
• Training – to grow from £150k to £500k.
The client’s market include Blue Chips, Charities and, in the main, Public sector organisations.
Looking ahead to 2006, the client’s management were keen to have a new 3-year business plan in place that would provide direction for the company, its management team and staff.
